Beyond its crisp white exterior, you’re met with the central hallway which acts as a bridge between the original home and the new extension – a purposeful transition that seamlessly leads you through to the kitchen and living areas at the rear of the home.

To ensure existing features were celebrated and seamlessly integrated with the new design, a subdued palette of natural timber and stone was used, while natural light permeates the home, providing calm and cohesion throughout.

Central to the living space, a new Escea DF960 Gas Fireplace solidifies the effortless blend of old and new, combining an age-old tradition with modern innovations.

The fireplace's minimalist design seamlessly integrates into the marble surround – a timeless, elegant material that’s been designed with modern form in mind.

Kristin says, “The design and placement of the fireplace were treated more traditionally as it balanced the side windows and bench seats. The stone surround, positioned classically on the floor, grounds the fireplace in the room while allowing a sense of lightness above.”

On her love for working with stone, Kristen says, “We find that stone is a gorgeous way to create a bolder focal point in the room, and it can be designed in many ways – with a character style surround to the floor with hearth, or simply to frame the fireplace.”

Sitting discreetly above the fireplace sits the Samsung Frame TV –– a subtle way to integrate warmth, style and entertainment in one central space. The DF960’s low television clearance of just 200mm above the fireplace ensures no compromise is taken, giving the homeowners all the benefits of modern technology, without compromising on style.
