Every so often, something arrives at Stoke that stops us in our tracks – and the LR Series is one of those fireplaces.
Stripped back to its most minimalist form, the Escea LR Series introduces a completely new approach to the electric fireplace. An alternative to the traditional log-fire look, the LR Series is designed around a single, continuous ribbon of holographic flame over a bed of crushed black glass.
As Stoke's Christchurch owner Mick Kain puts it: "I'm genuinely excited for customers to see it in person – it's so hard to tell the difference between the LR and a modern gas or ethanol fire, so it'll be interesting watching people's reactions when they realise."

A Different Kind of Flame
The technology behind it is patent-pending, and it shows. It's an evolution of Escea's LE Series, where flame is mapped over natural logs – the LR Series takes that same realism and projects it as a single ribbon of flame, full of dynamic movement and depth, with underlighting tuned to match.

Reflective side panels pull the eye further in, creating what feels like an infinite flame effect. Most customers assume it's gas or ethanol at first glance – until they realise it isn't, and then they can't stop looking.

Four Sizes, One Idea
The series runs from the LR1000 – compact enough for a bedroom or study – through to the LR1750, stretching nearly two metres and, in our experience, capable of turning any wall into a considered, architectural feature. There's also a freestanding option, the LRFS1000, for customers who want the same flame without committing it to a wall.

Whichever size suits the space, it's the same idea throughout: a bold black glass fuelbed, four flame styles from a quiet ambient flicker through to a fuller, more dramatic display, and a presence that anchors the room.

Ambience, All Year Round
Flame-only mode means customers can enjoy the LR Series purely for ambience any time of year, with up to 3kW of warmth when it's needed – all from the SmartHeat App or the slimline touchscreen remote, or skip the screen altogether with smart home integration and control it by voice.

The Freedom to Design Around It
It's why we love working with Escea: nothing is compromised on realism or design – and installation is just as flexible. No flues, no vents, no consent required – so it can go almost anywhere in the home. Zero Clearance rated, it sits comfortably in raw concrete, polished timber, stone cladding, or your own custom joinery, and the zero clearance means a TV can sit right above it, for a fully integrated media wall.

Every LR Series fireplace is designed and crafted in the deep south of New Zealand.
